Welcome

The Scottish Countryside Rangers Association (SCRA) is the professional membership association for Countryside Rangers and associated countryside professionals in Scotland

Formed in 1974, SCRA has an enviable reputation for supporting the development and enhancement of the Ranger profession in Scotland; organising networking events, training events and conferences, supporting the development of a national logo and brand for Scotland's Ranger Services and working with Government and Government agencies to promote the profession.

Rangers promote the enjoyment, understanding and care of Scotland's outdoors through;

  • The first hand provision of information, advice and activities
  • Interpretation
  • The management of sites and facilities
  • Seeking to secure responsible behaviour

Focus on Volunteering, in association with the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO), offers you the best coverage for your volunteering opportunities and programmes. You have nothing to lose apart from 5 minutes to send the free advert. Send it now.

If your work is within the countryside and wildlife conservation sectors including urban or green space conservation, environmental education and zoological work and you welcome help I'm sure we can advertise something for you.

If you don't have a current opportunity, but you do occasionally take on volunteers, have a 'friends of group' or simply could use a helping hand now and then send us an advert letting people know you may have opportunities. Many readers are referred to our volunteer pages when they ask about how to get a start in the sector. It’s worth having your website listed with us if nothing else.

Deadline: 30 January 2015

If you have, or will have, a specific post or placement available then the Standard Free Linage option is best.  Around 200 words per post edited to the in-house style. Don’t worry we do the editing, simply send us any advert or job description you have to hand and we'll do the rest.

If you don’t have anything specific but would like to promote your project, scheme, volunteer work days programme, citizen science project or website then the 50 word linage is the right option for you.

Our readership   is comprised of countryside, conservation, ecology and wildlife professionals at all levels across the UK.

Please feel free to forward this to colleagues or contacts who may find the opportunity useful.
